The Team

The women who'll plan your Camino and walk it beside you

From the first message you send to the moment you collect your Compostela, you're in the hands of a small team who have walked these paths themselves, and who guide because they love it.

Founder & Lead Guide

Meet Carol

Carol founded Camino Confidence & Beyond after twenty years living in Spain, and has recently settled back in the UK, living next door to her sister and just down the road from her mum, with three rescued Spanish dogs and two cheeky cats for company. When she's not guiding, she's usually reading, crafting, out walking, or slowly working her way through her first novel.

Like many of the women she now guides, Carol has had her own share of ups and downs, and knows exactly what it feels like to lose your confidence, let anxiety take over, and quietly push your own dreams to the back of the queue while life gets in the way. Camino Confidence & Beyond grew directly out of that experience, a company built to help women rebuild their confidence and finally make room for the Camino they've been dreaming about.

Carol walked her first Camino back in 2003 and still describes it, without hesitation, as the best experience of her life.

My mission is to help you restore your confidence, and give you the tools to make your dream of walking the Camino real.

Carol Alexander-Price, Founder & Guide

Meet the guides

Two more women who know the way

Every Slow Stroll is led by a guide who has walked the route herself, and who's just as glad of the company as you'll be.

Monica

Guide · Galicia, Spain

Monica's path to guiding started in 2016, when a close friend from the US asked for her help teaching Spanish to a group of American walkers in the middle of Asturias. Walking and talking in Spanish with people keen to learn about the language and the culture felt like a dream, and it turned out to be the start of something bigger, when the trip's organiser invited her to train as a guide.

She quickly learned that guiding the Camino is about far more than legends, maps and route knowledge, at its heart, it's about looking after people. She still can't quite believe she gets to show her home region of Galicia to pilgrims from all over the world.

Linda

Guide · Trondheim, Norway & the UK

Linda lives in the UK but grew up in Trondheim, Norway — itself a pilgrim city since medieval times — so long-distance walking routes were in her blood long before she ever set foot on the Camino. She walked her first stretch, the short Camino Inglés, in 2009, just to see if pilgrim life suited her. It did. In 2012 she set out properly from St Jean Pied de Port and took a leisurely 42 days to reach Santiago, with no regrets about a single one of them.

In 2019 Linda joined a Camino Taster trip simply to help out and see whether guiding might be for her — and by the end of the week she didn't want the group to go home. She still walks at a gentle pace, and still enjoys nothing more than introducing new pilgrims to a path that's given her so much.

What we stand for

Camino Confidence - Core Beliefs

Freedom

We believe every woman has it in her to step outside her comfort zone, and with the right support and encouragement, to find real freedom in doing it.

Confidence

We believe women are naturally connected to one another, and that there's real strength in a community of like-minded people walking the same path.

Respect

We believe every one of us experiences our own Camino differently, and that every version of that experience deserves respect.
